Match the spray experience to the neck finish

Connection type affects appearance, filling-line setup, serviceability and sealing. The pump engine primarily controls nominal output and actuation; the actuator/nozzle insert, formula and actuation speed jointly determine plume shape, spray angle, droplet size and mist quality.

Permanent

Crimp pump

Clean, low-profile appearance and permanent assembly. Seal performance depends on the neck, sealing interface and crimp profile; correct tooling is required.

Removable / refill-ready

Screw pump

Can support refill and reuse when the complete pack is designed for repeated opening. Control thread finish, torque, seal compression and repeated-use performance.

Fast assembly

Snap-on pump

Provides a clean collar and efficient assembly. Bottle neck and pump snap geometry must match exactly.

Bulb atomizer

Creates a vintage ritual and distinctive shelf presence. Output consistency and long-term hose performance need validation.

Specify the complete pump

Confirm nominal output and tolerance per full actuation; actuator profile and material; nozzle-insert or plume target; collar or ferrule material, height and finish; sealing system; dip-tube material, visibility, cut and length; plus required crimp dimensions or application torque.

Typical fine-fragrance reference

Representative fine-fragrance outputs include 0.07, 0.10 and 0.14 mL (70, 100 and 140 µL) per full actuation; some sample pumps are around 0.03 mL. Supplier tolerance, formula, priming state, actuator/nozzle insert and actuation speed must be validated on the assembled pack.

Caps & overcaps

Complete the closure with the right weight, fit and finish

Overcaps protect the actuator and deliver the visual finish; the pump-to-neck interface—not the overcap—is normally the primary liquid seal. Validate retention, clearance, drop resistance and decoration rub on the assembled pack.

Glass remains the reference for fine fragrance, while plastics, aluminum and hybrid constructions can solve weight, travel or impact-resistance requirements.

Extra-white flint glass

Low visible tint and high clarity for accurate fragrance-color presentation. Base thickness and bottle weight are separate design specifications.

Stock molds reduce tooling time and order thresholds. Private molds create stronger brand ownership but require mold development, structural review and larger production planning.

Common fragrance crimp-neck designations include FEA 13, 15, 17, 18 and 20. Screw-on and snap-on pumps use several industry and supplier-specific neck finishes. Confirm the exact neck code, sealing-surface dimensions, pump drawing and assembly specification, then verify with assembled samples.

Finish choice affects color consistency, scratch resistance, recyclability, lead time and minimum order. Complex designs should be approved on decorated bottle samples under the intended lighting.
